We Found a Little Summer House

The place is on the inlet between Destin Beach and the town of Niceville. It is not exactly on the beach, but then that is fine with me. I would really rather be protected from a real storm surge. The place is nothing more than a cottage and there are about another half dozen of them quite close to it. They seem to be around ten or fifteen years old and it is obvious that all of them are used like we would use them. Right now we are getting quotes on homeowners insurance in Florida, looking to see what it would cost for us to have it either bundled with the mortgage payment or if we got it separate from that. The place is not going to be that expensive and obviously it helps us that we have paid off our own house. In truth we are thinking that it shall not be very long before it is time for us to get a smaller place.

The last of the children are going to be gone in a short time. Mitch is going to graduate from Georgia Southern in a couple of months, all of the other kids will be off to college in the next couple of years. We were really lucky when Mitch managed to get a full scholarship, although it may turn out that he decides to go to medical school or that he may decide to go to school to be an engineer. He has done so well at college, that all of these things are open to him if he decided that he wanted to go to school. Of course in all likelihood he would have to borrow the money to do it on his own, but at any rate not having to pay for his education saved us a fortune.
