Learning All I Can About Visual Communication

When I decided to take a visual communication course at a local design school, I did not make the decision lightly. I considered everything about the course and how it would help me in life. I have always had an interest in this medium, but I wanted to make sure I would be learning what I needed to be able to make a good living from it. I did not want to devote money and time to something that would not help me get a job once I had the diploma in my hand.

That is why I wanted to research what former students had to say as well as the faculty who teaches these courses. I looked at the faculty first to see who they are, what credentials they have, and if they have even won any awards in their field. It was nice to see that they were all very competent and quite knowledgeable in the field they were teaching. I also looked at former students and their opinions of this school. It was nice seeing how many of them have definitely used this course to further their work careers, and it gave me the hope that I was looking for.

Finally, I looked at the actual courses. I was very pleased to see that the history of design was one of the courses. If there is one thing that I know, it is that we all need to know where we come from. While this is true in the biblical sense, it is also true in our work careers. I want to know the origins of the processes that I use, and this course teaches that. It is not a simple course either, because 36 hours alone is devoted to the history of design. With a program as detailed as this, I knew I could no go wrong with it.
