The Rain is Not Going to Stop Soon

Written on May 21, 2017 at 4:30 am, by admin

It has been pretty much a monsoon since we got here and so we have not been able to get started on this project. All of my stuff is still waiting to be unpacked. There are four of us living in this house in a nice suburb. All of the stuff we brought along is in this sewa mobil box for Jakarta that we hired. That was a good thing, since we can not get the gear out of the box until we need to use it. Of course we are really worried about it. The stuff that we have in that box is very expensive obviously and the company would have a fit if it went missing on us. However the real thing is that we could not replace it in a reasonable amount of time and it might set this project back for a month while we had to sit around waiting for the stuff to get here.

The rain is not supposed to stop or even slow down for another week, but that is not certain either. Read more

I Wanted to Get Life Insurance

Written on May 19, 2017 at 4:32 am, by admin

When my cousin was diagnosed with cancer, none of us expected her to only live for a few more months. She died right before her 40th birthday, which still shocks all of us to this day. She was the picture of health, so she had never taken out life insurance for herself. As a result, her husband has been struggling since half the income was lost. That got me to thinking not long ago that this story could happen to any one of us. I have my car insurance through the Niceville insurance agency, and I decided to talk with someone there about life insurance too.

Before I did, I went to their website to make sure that they even offered life insurance. When I found out that they did, I took my time reading all of the information about it. Read more

Sometimes You Need to Learn What You Don’t Already Know

Written on May 17, 2017 at 4:30 am, by admin

People are always saying that there are employees who are natural born leaders. I have heard this all throughout life, but what frustrates me is that it is always held up to everyone as the only people worth anything are leaders. In the company I work for, I have never been a manager, and I know the people who make the most money hold those positions. I began reading leadership blogs to try to learn more about what it is that is necessary to lead others. I hoped that maybe some of it would rub off on me so that I could get a coveted management position one day.

I was never someone who likes to follow or lead. I just like to be myself. I always found it stressful to try to tell other people to do, and while I listen to others in the workplace, I also like to do things on my own. But this is not enough to make your paycheck rise to acceptable levels for today’s costs of living. I knew that I needed to do something if I wanted to rise up the ladder with the company that I have been at for so long. Read more

The Only Way to Go with a Rug

Written on May 17, 2017 at 4:30 am, by admin

Until I discovered the wonders of custom designer rugs, I bought all my rugs at the local department store just like everyone else. I figured what is the big deal? They’re rugs. No one notices what type of rugs you’ve got inside the door or in the bathroom. They are all the same. How wrong I was. What if I was to tell you the difference between a custom rug and a mass produced rug was like the difference between night and day? It really is. You haven’t owned a decent rug until you’ve gone custom. They’re that superior.

Of course, buying anything that is custom tends to get a little pricey. I think everyone knows that. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get a quality product without spending a bundle of money. Read more

High-End Car Really Grabbed the Attention of My Imagination

Written on May 12, 2017 at 12:31 pm, by admin

I am not likely to ever be able to own one, but the really top-end cars hold an interest to me. For example, it would be really cool to own a 2017 Bugatti. This car tops out at 1,500 horsepower. If you do not understand horsepower and car engines, just suffice it to say that 1,500 is a whole lot! It gets you to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds, and it tops out at 261 miles per hour. Can you even imagine going half that fast? No, this is not a car for trips to the grocery store. That is, unless the store is on the other side of a race track. Read more

Collector’s Club Ring Made with Star Sapphire Gemstones

Written on May 12, 2017 at 12:30 pm, by admin

I suggested a ring design for our collector’s club. We collect old antique phones, and we wanted to raise money for the club. I am the artist in the group, so I was tasked with coming up with a nice design for the ring. I drew up something that included star sapphire gemstones, and it was voted on. Everyone liked it without wanting any changes. This is kind of unique as we are an eclectic group. Some folks like really old wooden crank phones while others collect rotary models from the forties and fifties. I was kind of surprised that everyone liked my ring design and my choice to use star sapphire for the main gemstone.

The first ring was made as a sample for everyone to see. Read more

I Found Help in a Way That I Had Not Heard About Before

Written on January 12, 2017 at 9:32 pm, by admin

I would say that my headaches had been happening for about a year-and-a-half. What alarmed me about that is that headaches have been mostly been a rarity for me throughout my life. I had no idea that there is a Campbell chiropractor who can help people be free from the same type of chronic headaches if I was dealing with. I thought they only worked with back problems. This is how I got help with my headaches that I was dealing with on a daily basis.

The first time that I had a major headache a year-and-a-half ago, I actually felt like throwing up. The pain was so strong that I immediately started to worry that something was wrong with me. I almost drove myself to the emergency room. First, I called my mom to tell her what was going on. She told me that I was more than likely suffering from a migraine. Read more

Do Not Ignore Squeaks Coming from Your Dryer

Written on January 11, 2017 at 5:34 pm, by admin

Our dryer started squeaking about a year ago. It was a mild sound that was occasional at first. Then it got more pronounced as time went on. When someone on the phone asked me what the squeaking sound was, I figured it was time to call a place that does appliance repair in Sacramento to fix it. If I let it go any longer, my neighbors might start complaining of the loud squeaking noise coming from our clothes dryer. We had gotten used to hearing it and pretty much ignored it. The clothes still dried just fine, so it was not really a big deal.

However, the squeak was caused by a bad bearing where the drum rotates. This caused a shift in the drum that then wore out the seal between the rotating drum and the frame of the dryer. The bearing was not expensive to replace, and the seal was not too expensive. Read more

Getting Proof of Income for Workers

Written on January 5, 2017 at 1:30 pm, by admin

I have a few people who work for me. I don’t pay them under the table, but I don’t do their taxes either. They are contract workers, which means that they get their full pay from me, and then they handle their taxes on their own. I have my own records, but I had never given them anything like proof of income. I just figured that they would be honest about their own taxes, just as I am honest about mine. However, I was told by a good friend that I should do more to protect myself since I don’t always pay with a check.

If I did pay someone in cash, then that person could say that I gave more or less, or they could even say that I did not pay them. That made sense to me, and I decided to research this so I could definitely protect myself. Read more

Stretch Limo for Prom Dance

Written on October 8, 2016 at 4:30 am, by admin

I know that some people like to rent stretch limousine for the prom dance, and I know that not everyone can afford it. We do not have a lot of extra money to put towards the prom dance, and we have already spent a ton of money on my son’s tuxedo rental and other associated costs. He had to get a haircut, and some new shoes. I am trying to figure out how much it is going to cost us to rent a stretch limo for the prom.

Of course, a stretch limo would be completely overkill if it were just going to be my son and his prom date that were going to ride in the limo. But that is not the case, and it is the key to making this affordable. Read more

Our Lawn Needed More Personality

Written on September 16, 2016 at 12:32 am, by admin

One of the things that I disliked about the building my company had just purchased for our new headquarters was how stark and uninviting it looked. The building itself is really nice, but there was no landscaping done outside to make it welcoming to people. Probably even before the ink was dried, I was looking for a tree service in Nassau County that would be able to make our grounds more beautiful. I know a lot of people associate a tree service with a company that cuts or trims trees, but I knew that there were some that also did commercial landscaping.

I did not want a gardener because I was mostly interested in having trees and shrubs planted. I won’t ask a baker to cook me a steak, so I was not going to ask a gardener to plant me several dozen trees. Read more

Our Limo Was Part of Our Honeymoon Adventure

Written on August 12, 2015 at 4:30 am, by admin

My bride to be and I talked a lot about going here and going there. We were not rich, nor did we want to go in debt. However, we did want to see things we have never seen before. When we were looking for a limo service for our wedding day, we were also looking at a bunch of different things we could do in the area where we lived. Many of the things had been on both of our lists of things we wanted to do since we were children. The “go here” link for our limo service was also the go to link for our chartered tour of our local region.

We were planning a wedding and a two week away honeymoon with another week off to set up our new apartment together. We both had a total of four weeks vacation from work, and we were using three of them for our wedding and honeymoon and apartment set up. We decided to go someplace warm yet cheaper on our honeymoon for the opportunity of being able to rent a limo to tour our own local attractions. We took a week riding in a limo to see places in our own region that we had never been to before. Read more

Peachtree City Georgia Apartment Listings

Written on August 14, 2015 at 12:47 am, by admin

I am looking for a place to live in Peachtree City. Kind of a funny name, I do admit, and I had never heard of the place until a few years ago. But recently, I found a job there, and so I am going to make the move. So I need to find out about apartments for rent in Peachtree City GA and I want to find some sort of guide to apartment listings in the city. I do not really want to rent, because I think that it is smarter to own. But I do not know if I am going to be able to make it last with this company over the long run. Read more

Planning a Guy’s Night out

Written on October 1, 2015 at 4:30 pm, by admin

A couple of my friends from college are going to be in Toronto in a couple of weeks and the four of us are thinking about going out on the town for a big night. I have been thinking that it would be best if some other person were behind the wheel, especially not me. I have to have my driver’s license to do my job and I really like the job that I have. So I have been looking for more info on the cost of renting a limousine for the night. Of course I am not thinking that I want to pay for it all myself, but I figure that a limo is not going to be all that expensive if you split the cost of it four ways. That depends a lot upon how far you go with the concept. Read more

The Hours of Upkeep in a Home

Written on December 19, 2015 at 5:31 pm, by admin

My first year of college has been one full of surprises and has turned out to be far more time consuming than I originally expected it to be. I’m ashamed to admit it but I have not even had time to do any of my own cleaning which, thankfully, has been done by a cleaning company that I found thanks to this official site. I tell you now, expecting your mother to come home and find you with dirty carpets, stacked dishes and clothes needing to be cleaned is more terrifying than taking finals worth your entire semester’s grade – real talk here, people. We Know We Are Doing the Right Thing for Our Child

Written on January 9, 2016 at 5:30 pm, by admin

My husband and I were really lucky in that he had a great job that allowed me the luxury of staying home with our baby for his first years of life. But it soon became apparent that my husband would be laid off. He began looking for a new job immediately, but was having no luck. This meant that I needed to work immediately. I knew that I could find a job quite quickly. This also meant that we would need to put our son into daycare, so I went to the official site for a well known daycare in our area that I had heard about to learn more.

We had always hoped that I would be the only one who would need to care for our child until he reached the age of 5 and could start attending the elementary school near us. Read more

Learning All I Can About Visual Communication

Written on September 8, 2016 at 4:31 am, by admin

When I decided to take a visual communication course at a local design school, I did not make the decision lightly. I considered everything about the course and how it would help me in life. I have always had an interest in this medium, but I wanted to make sure I would be learning what I needed to be able to make a good living from it. I did not want to devote money and time to something that would not help me get a job once I had the diploma in my hand.

That is why I wanted to research what former students had to say as well as the faculty who teaches these courses. Read more

We Know Not to Try to Do Things We Know Little About

Written on September 16, 2016 at 12:31 am, by admin

My husband and I tried to work on our roof ourselves, but I think the issue that resulted from our work is that we did not know what we were doing. We had to look for roof replacement in Manhattan NY and it would have been less if we would have just gotten someone to do the work for us in the first place. But we were trying to be cheapskates, and it caused trouble for us. This is not the first time that has happened to us because we tried to be overly-thrifty.

Neither my spouse or me know much about fixing a roof. We tried to use some products that my husband already had in our storeroom to patch up leaks found in two different rooms. Read more

We Found a Little Summer House

Written on May 22, 2017 at 4:30 am, by admin

The place is on the inlet between Destin Beach and the town of Niceville. It is not exactly on the beach, but then that is fine with me. I would really rather be protected from a real storm surge. The place is nothing more than a cottage and there are about another half dozen of them quite close to it. They seem to be around ten or fifteen years old and it is obvious that all of them are used like we would use them. Right now we are getting quotes on homeowners insurance in Florida, looking to see what it would cost for us to have it either bundled with the mortgage payment or if we got it separate from that. The place is not going to be that expensive and obviously it helps us that we have paid off our own house. In truth we are thinking that it shall not be very long before it is time for us to get a smaller place.

The last of the children are going to be gone in a short time. Read more

A Workout Designed to Be Tough

Written on May 12, 2017 at 12:31 pm, by admin

I joined the local gym because I wanted to get in even better shape. I was not overweight, but I also wasn’t toned. Working out at the gym helped me some, but I was not pleased with the slow progress. The gym had state of the art equipment, but there was no direction really. No personal trainers were on site to help those of us who were not getting to where we wanted to be. Another guy at the gym told me about a Body Beast review that he had read, and he thought I might be interested in it after hearing me complain about my lack of progress.

I asked him if he was doing it, and he was up front about it being too hard for him to stick with it. Read more

A Highly Durable Club That Improves Your Shots

Written on May 12, 2017 at 12:31 pm, by admin

I always wanted to buy a Callaway forged copper wedge, but didn’t get around to shopping for one until I retired recently. I figured that now that I would be hitting the links two to three times a week, it was time to upgrade my clubs. The old ones I played with for years were looking pretty ratty, and more importantly they were having a negative effect on my game. I bought them about twenty years ago and they are really showing the wear and tear. It was time to upgrade and I decided to start with my wedges.

Wedges are one of the most important clubs you will use in golf, especially if you have the tendency to blunder into every hazard and obstacle on the course. I have long been known as the hazard guy at my club, but I am also good about getting around them with my wedges. That’s why I wanted the copper wedge because these clubs tend to work better than your average wedge that most people would pick up with a standard golf club package. Read more

Fantastic Legal Minds Helped Our Family Find Relief

Written on January 12, 2017 at 9:31 pm, by admin

Never having to employ the services of an attorney, I had to do a lot of online research to locate just the right personal injury attorney in Sacramento several months ago after my son was attacked by a couple of kids who live down the street. He was coming home from school, minding his own business, when these two thugs jumped him in an attempt to steal his backpack. I didn’t care at all about the items in his bag, but I cared a lot when I saw the extent of his injuries. He had two black eyes, a split lip, a broken nose, and multiple facial contusions.

We called the police, of course, and they quickly rounded up the two goons responsible for the attack, but it wasn’t enough. Read more

Wallpapers, Lyrics and Songs on This Site

My friend knows how much I love music, so it was not surprising when he sent me an email with a link to the Tubidy free music download site. I have loved music ever since I was a kid because my folks always listened to all kinds in the house. I have a rather wide range of genres that I will listen to, which is why I really appreciate it when he sent me that email. There are a lot of music sites that just cater to one type of genre, so I like to go to as many as I can.

When I went to this music site, I was able to see just how different it is from the sites that I normally go to. This one has a lot more available on it than just songs for people to listen to. Read more

A Car Scanner Makes My Car Perform Better

Written on October 15, 2016 at 4:30 am, by admin

When I first heard about OBD 2 software, I really had no idea what it was. I knew that it was a car scanner, but I was clueless beyond that. I suppose that is because I would always take my car to the mechanic when it needed to be checked for something or just a regular tune up. My brother is the one who told me about the car scanner and how it has really helped in not only save money but have better performance from his car as well.

He gave me the website address for the site where he had learned about it too. Everything I read there really excited me, and I had a feeling I was going to have a better car because of this too. At first, I thought that this was just something that an auto garage would have since they are the ones with all of the diagnostic tools for looking at cars. Read more

Our Son Got the IPhone He Bought Unlocked by the Carrier

Written on October 13, 2016 at 4:30 pm, by admin

Our son was saving to buy a used iPhone. I was very wary about him buying online, so I figured it would be okay to buy one from a friend of his. The friend gets all the latest things, so he was selling his old iPhone. He got a new one because the day they were released they did not have the color in stock that he wanted. Now, a couple of months later, he talked his mom into getting him the black one. Our son got a great deal on a practically new phone, but an iPhone factory unlock was needed to get it to work on our carrier.

I had never heard of such a thing. We have swapped phones around in our family even though we have relatives that use different carriers. It looks like Apple is different. They seem to lock their iPhones to the carrier, and I think it is for two full years. Read more

The Best Espresso Machine Ever

Written on October 11, 2016 at 4:31 am, by admin

When my hours at work were cut back, I knew that I had to make some changes. One of the inevitable changes was to not stop every morning for my morning cup of espresso from a local bakery. They make the absolute best espresso, and I knew that I was going to miss it, but I had no choice. Even with this concession, I knew that I would not be able to give up my morning cup altogether. Instead of having it through a drive thru, I decided to buy a Saeco Vienna Plus maker to see if it could even begin to compare.

I did not choose this espresso maker out of thin air. Read more

How I Grew My Newsletter Subscriber Base Accidentally

Written on October 4, 2016 at 12:31 pm, by admin

I started to grow an email list kind of by accident. I put out a free newsletter about a topic I was passionate about. I had friends sign up because they were my friends. However, they actually were part of my marketing plan even though I did not know about it. The email newsletter software I was using made use of their social media contacts. I had found it among the Top 10 marketing software programs. I had no idea which one to pick. I just picked one that was easy for me to use. Well, the software helped me attract people who actually were interested in my newsletter. Not just friends who signed up because they were my friends and it was free.

I thought it was amazing when I got 100 people to sign up. It was incredible when I got a thousand. Read more
